May  2018             Message from Schoenstatt Austin

Greeting from Fr. Patricio Rodriguez,                     Movement Director, Rector of the Austin Shrine

Dear Schoenstatt family and friends,

We begin a new month, May, the month of Mary, our Blessed Mother and Queen! It is especially significant for us in the Schoenstatt Movement, who have been blessed with a strong Marian spirituality that we want to share with the world.

During this special month we also remember our five vocations in the novitiatewho are always thankful for our prayers for them. As I mentioned in last month’s newsletter they are going through a unique time in their formation, living an experience of social internship where they serve the suffering and poor in hospitals in different cities in South America. Pope Francis has blessed us with a new Apostolic Exhortation, Gaudete et Exsultate (Rejoice and be glad) where he invites us to strive at the same time in our prayer life, the service to the peripheries and deepening in the understanding of the Holy Scripture as the living Word of God. This is a great way to live this Easter Season, to use our own every day life to announce the good news of the Gospel, as Mary did.

Many blessings to you, your families, branches, groups, and communities; remember to bring as many pilgrims as possible as a gift to our Mother in this, her month.

Fr. Patricio Rodriguez
Movement Director and Rector of the Shrine

Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign Pilgrimage Day – Austin

The Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign celebrated its 4th Annual Pilgrimage Day in April, with a day of formation, sharing and prayer centered on the “Practical Faith in Divine Providence” that Fr. Kentenich embodied and taught as one of one of the spiritual pillars of Schoenstatt. Fr. Cristian shared his experiences of Fr. Kentenich and Deacon John Pozzobon . Those attending had an opportunity to reflect on how they could live this out in their own lives. The day closed with a rosary and holy mass, where  30+ missionaries committed anew or recommitted to the rosary campaign apostolate for another year.  Thank you all for your dedication and service to the Blessed Mother.

She is the great Missionary and she will work Miracles!
